Connect Indonesia was founded in January 2000 in the UK, by a small group of caring individuals who are passionate about Indonesia. This fully volunteer driven community organisation brings together people who have an interest in Indonesia to provide educational opportunities and support human and economic development.

As quoted by Margaret Mead:

"Never doubt that a small group of thoughtful committed citizens can change the world. Indeed, it is the only thing that ever has"

The above quote has strengthen our believes that each and every one of us can work together to form an amazing team of volunteers to create and manage successful and sustainable grass-roots projects in Indonesia. We currently focusing on managing a project called “Seeing is Believing” where we regularly donate reading glasses to senior workers in remote part of the country, particularly those who are involved in Ikat weaving, basket making and other similar craft works. Please visit our blog site to find out more about our work in the past few years.

In addition to our grass-roots project development, we also organise cultural events and exhibitions here in the UK, to share some of Indonesia’s most amazing arts, culture & tradition with the British public. In the past few years, we have successfully created several events and exhibitions and one of our most recent and successful event was our very successful Indonesian Cultural Evening in October 2014, Please click here to find out more.
